Ms. Nirupoma Acherjo is a distinguished cultural activist, community leader, and business professional actively engaged in promoting Bangladeshi heritage, culture, and community development in the United States. A Bangladeshi-American currently residing in New York, she has dedicated herself to strengthening cultural connections between Bangladesh and the United States while promoting the values, traditions, and rich heritage of the Bengali community.

Ms. Acherjo previously served as the Chief Executive of Muktadhara Bangladesh, where she played an important role in promoting Bengali literature, encouraging cultural exchange, supporting creative initiatives, and contributing to community development. Through her leadership and dedication, she has been actively involved in creating platforms that connect the Bangladeshi diaspora with their cultural roots and foster greater appreciation of Bengali language, literature, and traditions.

She currently serves as the Director of USA-Bangladesh Business Links, where she contributes to strengthening business and professional connections between Bangladesh and the United States. Her involvement reflects her broader commitment to building meaningful bridges between the two countries across cultural, social, and economic spheres.

In addition to her professional and business engagements, Ms. Acherjo is actively involved in several prominent cultural initiatives in New York. She serves as an Executive Member of the Times Square Bangla New Year’s Celebration Committee and as the General Secretary of the Times Square Durga Utsav Association. Through these roles, she contributes to organizing and promoting major cultural celebrations that bring together the Bangladeshi and wider South Asian communities in the United States.

Throughout her journey, Ms. Acherjo has placed particular emphasis on engaging the younger generation and encouraging them to remain connected with their cultural heritage. She believes that preserving Bengali traditions requires meaningful participation from the next generation and has consistently worked to create opportunities for young people to participate in cultural, literary, and community activities.

With her passion, leadership, and extensive involvement in cultural, community, and business initiatives, Ms. Nirupoma Acherjo has established herself as a respected member of the Bangladeshi-American community.
